I've always been interested in building things.  This led me to get a degree in mechanical engineering at Cornell University.  After spending a few years doing product design for a medical equipment company, I left my job in early 2012 to surf, travel, and pursue various creative interests.

With this project I am interested in the juxtaposition between a "one of kind" piece of art created by a craftsman and the uniform, mass produced product created by engineers and modern manufacturing practices.  I see myself at the intersection of these two approaches.  Every product you see on this site has been handmade by me in Maryland.  But, along the way, I've used modern engineering and production techniques to maximize efficiency. In this way I am able to offer one of kind products at prices that are still accessible to the average consumer.

Most of the designs are refined versions of things I've made for myself, friends, or loved ones. My goal is to preserve the material's rustic aesthetic in simple, practical designs.
